About the Society

The Chetwynd Senior Citizens Housing Society is a non-profit society, incorporated in 1981. We provide affordable independent housing, assisted living and supportive housing to seniors in Chetwynd, BC. The goal of our volunteer board of directors and staff is to provide the environment that the seniors may continue to live their lives fully. Our Little Prairie Haven units have been providing seniors with affordable independent housing since 1984. In 2008, our society received an Olympic Legacy Grant from the Government of BC. This allowed us to build Assisted Housing and Supportive Living units on land donated by the Surerus family. Surerus Place offers Assisted Housing and Supportive Living for seniors who need additional assistance.

Membership

Membership in our society is open to individuals and the membership dues are $5.00 per year. Drop by the Surerus Place to become a member and help us serve our community housing needs! By becoming a member, you are entitled to a vote at the Annual General Meeting and to nominate members of the Board of Directors. Members assist in running of programs, trade show and other special events, and can sit on committees.

Donations

Our society is a non-profit registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency  BN #133005710RR0001. Donations can be made in person at Surerus Place or by mail. A tax receipt will be issued by return mail for donations received this way. You may also donate on line through Canada Helps or Changeit Canada .

 Donor Recognition Program

The Chetwynd Senior Citizens Housing Society’s donor recognition program provides meaningful recognition of donations and identifies levels of giving. The donor recognition applies to all fundraising projects, memorial donations, and bequests. Cumulative gift totals starting at $500.00 will be used when determining the appropriate donor level.

Gold              $25,000.00

Silver             $10,000.00

Bronze           $ 1,000.00

Honour           $    500.00
